Landscapes that feel naturally yours.
Creating spaces where you belong.
Your landscape. Thoughtfully Designed.
You want to make more of the space you have.
You might have a clear idea of what you want to change, a few things you're unsure about, or simply know that the space isn't working as well as it could.
That's where good design helps.
Taking the time to understand what you want from the space and what is already there means you can make decisions before you start making changes.
You can work out what needs to change, what is worth keeping and where to invest your money.
Most importantly, you don't need to arrive with all the answers.
You can start with a problem, an idea, a list of things that aren't working or simply a feeling that the space could be better.
We'll help you work out where to start.
The Islescapes Approach
A landscape should work for the people who use it and the place it’s in.
It should be somewhere you enjoy spending time, with spaces that make sense for what you want to do there. Somewhere to gather, relax, play, entertain or simply get outside.
It should look good, but that’s only part of it. The way you move through the space, how the different areas connect and how much work the landscape needs to keep looking good all matter too.
For us, good landscape design is about making the space work better for you, without losing what makes the place special.

Services
The right level of design depends on your property, what you want to change and what you want to achieve.
If you're not sure how to make the most of your outdoor space, landscape design helps you work out what you want from it and how it could all come together.
We look at how you want to use the space, what you need from it and what will work for your property, then develop a design that brings it all together.
The concept design establishes the overall direction for the project. Where planning or approval is required, it provides the foundation for developing the design into the documentation needed for the relevant approval process.
The right planting can change how you experience a garden - from creating privacy and shade to bringing colour, texture and seasonal interest. Planting design helps you work out what to plant, where it should go and how it will work with the rest of the space.
You'll receive a detailed planting plan with plant selections along with practical care and maintenance guidance, so you know what you've planted and how to look after it as it grows.
Where a project requires planning or approval, the agreed concept design is developed into the documentation required for submission through the relevant planning pathway.
Depending on the project, this may include landscape plans, planting schedules, calculations, elevations and other supporting information required for the application.
Not every project needs a full landscape design. Sometimes you just need help working out what to do with a particular part of your garden, whether an idea will actually work and what to do next.
You might have a particular problem, an idea you're unsure about or a planting plan or image you'd like to sense-check. Design advice gives you practical guidance specific to your garden, so you can make decisions with more confidence.
